Epic V8

Epic V8 Surfski – The Ultimate Beginner Boat!

What They Say….

With a hull design featuring specs of 18’ x 22”, the Epic V8 is unique in its class. Fast, yet extremely stable, this is a surfski that most kayakers should be able to hop right onto and paddle off. The deck features all the surfski simplicity of the V10 and V12, the main components being a fully adjustable footbrace and rear deck bungees. The V8 also incorporates some new features that add to its user friendly appeal: molded in bow & stern carry handles, and a water bottle holder in the cockpit. Venturi drain, breather tube and Epic surfski rudder configurations are standard.

Our goal with the Epic V8 is to provide a boat that bridges the gap between sea kayaks and surfskis. By blending speed, high stability and a performance oriented deck & outfitting, the Epic V8 offers new levels of accessibility and opportunity. Fitness paddlers and racers who want extra emphasis on stability, touring kayakers looking to make the transition to high performance surfskis, or cruisers looking for a simple, efficient boat for a day on the water. The Epic V8 will take you there.

Note:   New changes have been introduced for 2013 including a built in handle at the mid section for carrying and a slimmer profile behind the seat for even more speed

What Others Say….

  • Here is a great detailed review with lots of good pictures at the FatPaddler.com  blog
  • Another review from FatPaddler.com of the revised “Version 2” V8
  • Here are several independent reviews on Paddling.net that pretty much say it all about the Epic V8

What We Say….

We cannot say enough about the Epic V8.   It is simply amazing.   Of course it is super stable and great for beginners, but we are now seeing more and more experienced paddlers choosing to race the Epic V8 in challenging conditions and beating many competitors in advanced boats.

If you have an advanced boat but are looking for something fun and safe to take out when the waves pick up, the Epic V8 is for you!

As you can see here, it has also been a great boat for us to enjoy with the kids 🙂
